The accommodation tax calculator provided by Hesapstan applies the rate for the service date to the VAT-exclusive amount and separately handles student-accommodation and diplomatic exemptions.
Rate and tax base
The base is the VAT-exclusive consideration for the accommodation service. The date determines the normal rate; an eligible exemption returns zero tax.
The statutory rate is 2%. Decision 11263 applies 1% to services from 1 May through 31 December 2026.
Exemptions and limits
- Student services in qualifying dormitories, hostels and camps.
- Qualifying diplomatic and international-organization services, subject to the legal conditions.
- The calculator cannot verify the legal classification of a facility or service.
A normal 10,000 TL service on 15 June 2026 produces 100 TL tax.
Worked example and reading the result
For a VAT-exclusive 10,000 TL ordinary accommodation service supplied on 15 June 2026, the temporary 1% rate gives 100 TL tax. The same amount outside the temporary period is calculated at the statutory 2% rate, producing 200 TL.
The result separates tax base, rate and tax. If an exemption mode is selected, tax is zero because the calculator assumes the service really meets the exemption conditions.
The result is an arithmetic interpretation of entered values; it does not replace official action or professional review.
Outside the scope
- No live application, approval or official-record check is performed.
- The tool cannot validate the real-world correctness of wrong input values.
- Current special conditions should be confirmed with the relevant institution, bank, brand or official source.
