Calculate price increase amount and rate

The Hesapstan price increase calculator is designed to calculate the increase amount and rate applied to a price, salary or other amount. It works as the mirror of the discount calculator: it solves for the missing value from original price and increase rate, original and final price, or final price and increase rate.

What does the price increase calculator do?

This tool supports three calculations: final price from original price and increase rate, increase rate from original and final price, and original price from final price and increase rate.

The result shows the final price, increase amount, increase rate and original price together. This is useful for everyday calculations such as price increases, rent adjustments or salary raises.

How is the final price calculated from original price and rate?

In the simplest mode, you enter the original price and increase rate. Final price = original price × (1 + increase rate / 100).

For example, if the original price is 200 and the increase rate is 30%, the final price is 200 × 1.30 = 260. The increase amount is 60.

How is the increase rate found from original and final price?

If you know both the old and new price, you can work out the increase rate: increase rate = (final price - original price) / original price × 100.

For example, if a price rose from 200 to 260, the increase rate is (260 - 200) / 200 × 100 = 30%. This can also be used to verify the real percentage of a salary raise or rent increase.

How is the original price found from final price and rate?

If you only know the final price and the applied increase rate, you can work backward: original price = final price / (1 + increase rate / 100).

For example, if the final price is 260 and the increase rate is 30%, the original price is 260 / 1.30 = 200.

What does this tool not calculate?

  • It does not calculate official rent-increase caps or official inflation rates; check the relevant official source for those figures.
  • It does not add VAT or any other tax.
  • It does not automatically calculate compounded, multi-step increases; each increase must be calculated separately.
