Provided by Hesapstan, this baby weight calculator compares a 0-5 year weight measurement with WHO Child Growth Standards 2006 weight-for-age LMS tables and reports a z-score and approximate percentile.
How it works
The calculator finds the exact number of UTC calendar days between birth and measurement. It then uses the WHO L, M and S values for that sex and age day to calculate the LMS z-score.
Reading the result
- A z-score near 0 is close to the WHO median.
- Below -2 SD is flagged as low and above +2 SD as high.
- The percentile is an approximate normal-distribution conversion from the z-score.
Medical safety
A single measurement cannot diagnose growth, nutrition, or illness. Low, high, or rapidly changing values should be reviewed by a pediatric clinician.
