Location and method
The selected date and location feed a standard solar-position approximation, converted to local time.
- City mode uses stored coordinates and UTC offset for eight Turkish cities.
- Custom mode accepts latitude, longitude and UTC offset.
Limits
Atmosphere, elevation and horizon can shift observed times. Use an authorized source for prayer, maritime or aviation schedules.
At polar latitudes sunrise or sunset may not occur on some dates.
City and coordinate example
When Istanbul is selected as a preset, latitude, longitude and UTC offset are supplied automatically. In custom mode, the user enters them; the result is approximate sunrise, sunset and daylight duration.
Horizon elevation, local terrain, atmosphere and official prayer-time methods are not included in this approximate astronomy calculation.
The result is an arithmetic interpretation of entered values; it does not replace official action or professional review.
