The Hesapstan business day calculator is designed to calculate net business days between two dates, add business days to a date or subtract business days from a date more clearly. The tool can account for Monday–Friday or Monday–Saturday work patterns, Turkey official public holidays, public-sector administrative leave and manual holiday deductions depending on the selected options.

What does the business day calculator do?

The tool supports three business-day tasks: counting net business days between two dates, adding a number of business days to a date and subtracting a number of business days from a date.

The result includes more than the final business-day number. It can show calendar days, weekend days, holiday deductions, manual deductions, workweek used, counting method, holiday data status and supported holiday data years.

Not an official deadline calculator

Business-day calculation is useful for planning, but courts, public authorities, visas, contracts, payroll or official deadlines may apply special counting rules.

How are business days between dates calculated?

In the date-range mode, you enter a start date and an end date. The tool checks the calendar days in the range, separates weekends according to the selected workweek pattern and applies the selected holiday deductions.

This mode also lets you decide whether to include the start date and end date. These options can change the result because the same date range may be counted differently depending on the method.

Adding business days to a date

In add mode, you enter a start date and the number of business days to add. The tool moves forward through the calendar and finds the result date according to the selected workweek and holiday options.

This answers questions such as “what date is 10 business days from now?” or “which date comes after 5 business days from this starting date?”

Start date option

In add and subtract modes, the start date can be counted if it is a business day, or counting can begin from the next/previous business day. This option can change the result date.

Subtracting business days from a date

In subtract mode, the tool moves backward from the selected date and counts the requested number of business days until it finds the result date.

This is useful when you need to know how many business days before a deadline you should start, or when you need a backward workday calculation.

Workweek pattern: Monday–Friday or Monday–Saturday

The calculator supports two workweek patterns: Monday–Friday and Monday–Saturday. In Monday–Friday mode, Saturday and Sunday are weekends. In Monday–Saturday mode, only Sunday is treated as weekend.

Choosing the correct pattern matters because some workplaces, sectors or practical cases treat Saturday as a working day, while others do not.

How are Turkey public holidays used?

When the holiday mode includes official holidays, the calculator uses the Turkey public holiday dataset included in the project. A holiday is deducted only if it falls on a day that is otherwise a business day under the selected workweek pattern.

Some holidays in the dataset are weighted as half days. This can produce 0.5-day deductions, especially for eve days such as certain religious holiday eves or 28 October.

Supported years

Automatic Turkey holiday data applies only to the years supported by the dataset. The calculator shows supported data years and indicates if some years in the range lack automatic data.

What is public-sector administrative leave?

The calculator can optionally deduct administrative leave announced for public-sector employees. This can help with planning around public-sector calendars.

Do not assume it applies to private sector

Administrative leave does not necessarily apply to private-sector workers. For private companies, employer announcements, internal policy and contract terms should be checked.

What is manual holiday deduction?

Manual deduction lets you subtract additional holiday or leave days that are not automatically included in the dataset or that apply to your specific situation.

The manual field is a total number, not a list of specific dates. You decide which extra days should be deducted and enter the total deduction count.

Manual deduction is a total count

Manual holiday deduction is not a date list. For example, if you have 2 additional leave days to deduct, enter 2; the tool does not verify the exact dates.

Calendar days versus business days

Calendar days count every day without excluding weekends or holidays. Business days count only days considered workable under the selected workweek and holiday rules.

For example, in a Monday–Friday pattern, Saturday and Sunday are not business days. If official holiday deduction is enabled, official holidays that fall on working days are also deducted.

What if the start date is after the end date?

In date-range mode, if the start date is after the end date, the tool calculates the absolute difference and shows a date-order note.

This gives a result without hiding the input issue. For official or sensitive calculations, the date order should still be checked.

Does it calculate working hours?

No. This is a day-level business-day calculator. It does not calculate shift hours, working-hour ranges, lunch breaks, part-time work or overtime.

If your question is about exact working hours or time difference, a day-level business-day result may not be enough.

When is this calculator not enough?

  • Court, enforcement, visa, contract or official application deadlines.
  • Company-specific holiday calendars or shift systems.
  • Workweeks different from the supported patterns.
  • Hourly, minute-level or working-hour calculations.
  • Payroll, leave entitlement or labor-law decisions.
  • Automatic holiday deductions outside the supported dataset years.
Verify critical calculations

This tool supports calculation, but official, legal, payroll or internal company decisions require checking the relevant authority, employer, regulation or official calendar.
