The Hesapstan Ramadan countdown is designed to show how many days remain until Ramadan start, Laylat al-Qadr, Eid eve or Eid al-Fitr according to the selected Hijri year and calendar method more clearly. The tool can use Turkey/Diyanet data, Umm al-Qura data or comparison mode, but the result does not replace official moon-sighting announcements, religious decisions or local calendar declarations.

What does the Ramadan countdown do?

The Ramadan countdown shows how many days remain until a selected Ramadan-related event, or how many days have passed since that event, based on the selected Hijri year and calendar method.

The tool supports Ramadan start, Laylat al-Qadr, Eid eve and Eid al-Fitr. If the selected target is today, it reports that the target date is today.

Not an official religious announcement

Ramadan and Eid dates may be confirmed by moon sighting or official authority announcements in some countries. This tool provides dataset-based calendar information and does not replace official religious or local announcements.

Which targets can be counted?

The calculator can count toward Ramadan start, Laylat al-Qadr, Eid eve or Eid al-Fitr. This covers the most common Ramadan countdown searches.

  • Days until Ramadan start.
  • Days until or since Laylat al-Qadr.
  • Days until Eid eve.
  • Days until or since Eid al-Fitr.

Turkey/Diyanet and Umm al-Qura methods

The countdown uses two calendar data approaches in the dataset: Turkey/Diyanet and Umm al-Qura. Turkey/Diyanet corresponds to Turkey-related calendar data, while Umm al-Qura is a widely used Saudi-associated calendar method.

The two methods may match for some years and differ by a day in others. This difference comes from the underlying calendar method and data.

Calendar method matters

The same Hijri year and target can produce different results depending on the selected method. Always read the result together with the method used.

What does comparison mode do?

Comparison mode shows Turkey/Diyanet and Umm al-Qura dates side by side for the selected Hijri year and target. It also shows the difference in days when both data points are available.

This mode does not decide which date is religiously or officially correct. It only compares the two calendar datasets included in the tool.

Comparison is not a ruling

Comparison mode shows two calendar data sources side by side. It does not perform moon-sighting evaluation or official religious decision-making.

What if Ramadan is currently in progress?

If today falls inside Ramadan according to the selected method and year, the tool can show that Ramadan is currently in progress. It may also show the day of Ramadan and the days remaining until Eid al-Fitr.

These results depend on the selected method and dataset dates. If a local official announcement differs, the official source should be followed.

Data years and availability

The Ramadan countdown depends on the ramadan-calendar-data.js dataset prepared in the project. Therefore, it can produce results only for the Hijri years and methods available in that dataset.

If the selected year or method lacks data, the tool may report insufficient data. This means the calculator is not generating independent astronomical dates for all years.

Dataset limit

The tool is limited to the available dataset years and methods. Future official announcements or calendar changes require updating the dataset separately.

How are days until Ramadan calculated?

The tool takes today’s local date and compares it with the selected Ramadan target date. If the target is in the future, it shows days remaining. If the target is in the past, it shows days passed.

The result is day-based. It is not a live hour-minute-second countdown timer.

Days until Laylat al-Qadr

When Laylat al-Qadr is selected as the target, the tool calculates the days remaining until that dataset date or the days passed since it.

Laylat al-Qadr is traditionally associated with the last ten nights of Ramadan, but this tool uses the date stored in the dataset and does not issue religious rulings.

Days until Eid al-Fitr

When Eid al-Fitr is selected, the tool calculates days remaining until the Eid start date for the selected year and method. If Eid eve is selected, it calculates the countdown to the eve date.

Check official Eid announcements

Eid al-Fitr dates may be confirmed by country-specific official announcements. For travel, leave, worship or official planning, check the local official calendar and announcement.

Where does today’s date come from?

The calculation uses the user device’s local current date. If the device date is incorrect, or if the calculation is made close to midnight, the result may differ from what you expect.

Local date matters

Because the tool uses your device date, the local date setting matters. For critical use, check today’s date and the selected target date separately.

Does it calculate imsak, iftar or prayer times?

No. The Ramadan countdown only shows day-based countdowns to selected Ramadan-related targets. It does not calculate imsak, iftar, suhoor, taraweeh or prayer times.

Those times depend on city, location and official timetable source. For imsak and iftar, use a reliable local religious authority or timetable.

When is this countdown not enough?

  • When an official Ramadan start or Eid announcement is required.
  • When moon sighting or religious authority decision is decisive.
  • When imsak, iftar or prayer times are needed.
  • When the requested Hijri year is not in the dataset.
  • When a specific country’s official calendar is required.
  • When a live hour-minute-second countdown is needed.
