The TYT score calculator, provided by Hesapstan, helps estimate your TYT net scores and approximate score from correct and wrong answers in Turkish, Social Sciences, Basic Mathematics and Science. It is designed for students, parents and Turkey-based users who want to understand a mock exam result before checking official ÖSYM results.

What is TYT?

TYT stands for Temel Yeterlilik Testi, the Basic Proficiency Test. It is the first session of YKS, Turkey’s higher education entrance exam system, and measures core skills such as reading comprehension, reasoning, basic mathematics, social sciences and science.

For 2026, ÖSYM announced that YKS will be held on June 20–21, 2026. TYT is scheduled for June 20, while AYT and YDT are scheduled for June 21.

TYT is part of YKS

TYT is the first session of YKS. Final university placement scores may also involve AYT or YDT results, score type and OBP depending on the program and current official rules.

How is the TYT score calculated?

The calculation starts with net scores for each test. A net score is obtained from correct and wrong answers. These net scores are then converted into an estimated TYT score using approximate coefficients.

The basic net formula used here is: net = correct answers - wrong answers / 4. This follows the common 4 wrong answers cancel 1 correct answer approach. The official ÖSYM score, however, is based on current-year data and standardization, so this calculator only provides an estimate.

  • Turkish: correct and wrong answers are entered out of 40 questions.
  • Social Sciences: correct and wrong answers are entered out of 20 questions.
  • Basic Mathematics: correct and wrong answers are entered out of 40 questions.
  • Science: correct and wrong answers are entered out of 20 questions.
  • Optional OBP / school score can be added for a broader estimate.
Not an official score

This calculator gives an informational estimate based on your inputs and approximate coefficients. The only official TYT/YKS result is the result published by ÖSYM.

TYT net calculation vs TYT score calculation

TYT net calculation shows the raw net values from correct and wrong answers. TYT score calculation converts those net values into an estimated score. Net is therefore the starting point, not the final official score.

If you want to calculate only the raw net before estimating the score, use the exam net calculator. This page is for estimating the TYT score from TYT test nets.

Useful for students and parents

Students often ask “how many nets did I make?” Parents often ask “what score does this mock exam result mean?” This page connects both needs.

How does OBP affect TYT?

OBP refers to Ortaöğretim Başarı Puanı, the secondary education achievement score. It may affect placement score calculations. This calculator can estimate OBP contribution when a diploma grade is entered.

However, OBP rules may depend on the candidate’s status and current-year official rules. Normal OBP and reduced OBP should not be treated as the same in every situation.

OBP warning

For formal placement decisions, always check the current ÖSYM guide and the candidate’s official result document rather than relying only on an estimated calculator result.

How to use the TYT score calculator

  1. Enter Turkish correct and wrong answers.
  2. Enter Social Sciences correct and wrong answers.
  3. Enter Basic Mathematics correct and wrong answers.
  4. Enter Science correct and wrong answers.
  5. Choose whether to include OBP and enter the diploma grade if needed.
  6. Review total net, test-by-test nets, estimated raw score and estimated score with OBP if included.

Correct and wrong answers in each test must not exceed the number of questions in that test. For example, Turkish correct plus wrong answers cannot be more than 40.

Example TYT score estimate

Suppose a student has 30 Turkish correct and 5 wrong, 15 Social Sciences correct and 3 wrong, 25 Mathematics correct and 5 wrong, and 14 Science correct and 4 wrong in a TYT mock exam.

  1. Turkish net: 30 - 5 / 4 = 28.75
  2. Social Sciences net: 15 - 3 / 4 = 14.25
  3. Basic Mathematics net: 25 - 5 / 4 = 23.75
  4. Science net: 14 - 4 / 4 = 13.00
  5. Total TYT net: 79.75

The calculator then converts these nets into an estimated TYT score using approximate coefficients. The official ÖSYM score may differ because it depends on the official scoring model and current-year data.

Common mistakes when interpreting TYT results

  • Treating TYT net as the official TYT score.
  • Assuming a mock exam score will exactly match the real exam result.
  • Ignoring OBP or assuming OBP affects every candidate in the same way.
  • Confusing TYT with the full YKS placement score.
  • Making university preference decisions based only on an estimated score.
  • Ignoring ranking, quota and current-year exam difficulty.
Ranking matters too

In university placement, score alone is not always enough. Ranking, quotas, program type, candidate preferences and current-year data can all affect the final outcome.

Does this replace the official TYT result?

No. This calculator does not produce an official result and does not reproduce the internal ÖSYM scoring model. It is a practical estimation tool.

For placement, applications, objections or official decisions, use the current ÖSYM guide and the official candidate result document.

Frequently Asked Questions

How is a TYT score calculated?

First, net scores are calculated from correct and wrong answers. These net scores are then converted into an estimated score. The official score is calculated by ÖSYM.

What does net mean in TYT?

Net means the raw result after wrong answers are deducted from correct answers. A common approach is that 4 wrong answers cancel 1 correct answer.

Is the estimated TYT score enough for university preference decisions?

No. University placement also depends on the full YKS result, score type, ranking, quotas, OBP and current-year data.

Can I include OBP in this calculator?

Yes. You can enter the diploma grade to estimate OBP contribution, but the result remains informational and not official.

What is the difference between TYT and YKS?

TYT is the first session of YKS. The full YKS process may include TYT, AYT and YDT depending on score type and university program.
