What is TYT?
TYT stands for Temel Yeterlilik Testi, the Basic Proficiency Test. It is the first session of YKS, Turkey’s higher education entrance exam system, and measures core skills such as reading comprehension, reasoning, basic mathematics, social sciences and science.
In the 2026 YKS, TYT was held on 20 June 2026 according to the ÖSYM calendar, while AYT and YDT were held on 21 June 2026. TYT is the first and foundational session of the YKS process.

How is the TYT score calculated?
The calculation starts with net scores for each test. A net score is obtained from correct and wrong answers. These net scores are then converted into an estimated TYT score using approximate coefficients.
The basic net formula used here is: net = correct answers - wrong answers / 4. This follows the common 4 wrong answers cancel 1 correct answer approach. The official ÖSYM score, however, is based on current-year data and standardization, so this calculator only provides an estimate.

How does OBP affect TYT?
OBP refers to Ortaöğretim Başarı Puanı, the secondary education achievement score. Adding OBP is optional: skip it and the calculator produces only the raw score; add it and the calculator also produces a placement score alongside the raw score. The same field accepts either your diploma grade (50–100) or your OBP directly (250–500) — the calculator reads which one you meant from the range of the value entered.
The OBP contribution differs by situation: a normal coefficient applies if you were not previously placed into a programme through OBP, or a reduced "Kırık OBP" coefficient applies if you were already placed in an earlier year. An additional coefficient is also added for vocational-school graduates applying to a programme in their own field.
The selected exam year also affects the result: the raw score is calculated using that year’s own question counts and model, so choosing a different year can produce a different estimate for the same nets.
A result that includes OBP is still an estimate. For formal placement decisions, always check the current ÖSYM guide and the candidate’s official result document rather than relying only on an estimated calculator result.
How to use the TYT score calculator

Example TYT score estimate
Suppose a student has 30 Turkish correct and 5 wrong, 15 Social Sciences correct and 3 wrong, 25 Mathematics correct and 5 wrong, and 14 Science correct and 4 wrong in a TYT mock exam.
- Turkish net: 30 - 5 / 4 = 28.75
- Social Sciences net: 15 - 3 / 4 = 14.25
- Basic Mathematics net: 25 - 5 / 4 = 23.75
- Science net: 14 - 4 / 4 = 13.00
- Total TYT net: 79.75
