The Hesapstan high school grade promotion calculator is designed to estimate grade promotion status from year-end achievement score, failed courses, total responsible courses and absence information more clearly. The tool shows an indicative result such as direct promotion, responsible promotion or grade repetition together with the main reason.

What does the high school promotion calculator do?

The tool uses five inputs: year-end achievement score, failed courses in the current year, total responsible courses, unexcused absences and total absences.

It then gives an indicative result such as direct promotion, responsible promotion or grade repetition. It can also show the reason, score and absence values used in the evaluation.

Not an official decision

This tool is informational and based on the current calculator logic. Official promotion decisions depend on e-Okul, school administration and current regulations.

What is year-end achievement score?

The year-end achievement score is the 0–100 score representing the student’s overall year-end performance. In this tool, 50 is one of the key thresholds.

If the score is below 50, the tool may return grade repetition. In official evaluation, course status, school procedures and current rules must also be considered.

Score alone may not be enough

Year-end score is important, but failed courses, total responsible courses and absences also affect the result.

Failed courses in the current year

This input represents the number of courses failed in the current school year. It is used in the calculator’s direct promotion, responsible promotion and repetition logic.

If the number of failed courses in the current year is too high, the tool may return grade repetition even when the year-end score seems sufficient.

Total responsible courses

Total responsible courses may include both current-year failed courses and responsibilities from previous years. Therefore, it is not the same as current-year failed courses.

The tool expects current-year failed courses not to exceed total responsible courses. Total responsible courses should be the broader value.

Responsible promotion still carries obligations

Responsible promotion does not mean all obligations disappear. Responsibility exams and school follow-up may still apply.

When does direct promotion appear?

The tool may show direct promotion when the student has no current failed courses, or when the score is sufficient and the number of failed courses is limited.

Under the current runtime logic, if current failed courses are 0, direct promotion can appear. Also, if the year-end score is 50 or above and current failed courses are 1 or fewer, direct promotion can appear.

Do not treat direct promotion as official

Even if the tool shows direct promotion, official school records, absence status, course status and current regulations should be checked.

When does responsible promotion appear?

The tool may show responsible promotion when the score is 50 or above, current failed courses are within the allowed limit and total responsible courses are also within the allowed limit.

This means the student may move to the next grade but still has responsibility for certain courses. School processes and responsibility exams should be followed.

Responsible promotion is not obligation-free

Responsible promotion may require exams or later completion processes for the relevant courses.

When does grade repetition appear?

The tool may show grade repetition when the score is below the threshold, failed-course limits are exceeded, total responsible courses are too high or absence thresholds are exceeded.

Under the current runtime logic, unexcused absences above 10 days, total absences above 30 days, score below 50, more than 3 current failed courses or more than 6 total responsible courses can lead to grade repetition.

Grade repetition is a sensitive result

This result should be verified with school administration and official records before any decision is made.

How do absences affect the result?

The tool uses two absence inputs: unexcused absences and total absences. Unexcused absences are a specific part of total absences.

In the runtime logic, unexcused absences above 10 days or total absences above 30 days can lead to grade repetition.

Total absences cannot be less than unexcused absences

Since total absences include unexcused absences, total absences should not be entered as a smaller number.

Invalid or inconsistent inputs

The calculator may reject or flag inconsistent inputs. For example, total absences cannot be lower than unexcused absences.

Similarly, current-year failed courses should not be greater than total responsible courses, because the total value should include current-year failures.

Why can the result differ from e-Okul or the school?

e-Okul and school administration use official records, current regulations, course types, responsibility status, absence documents and board decisions.

This tool only calculates from five entered values. Special cases, regulation updates or school decisions may change the official outcome.

Difference from average and certificate calculators

The high school average calculator focuses on calculating grade average from course grades. The Takdir/Teşekkür calculator focuses on certificate eligibility indicators.

This promotion calculator focuses on score, failed courses, responsible courses and absences to estimate promotion or repetition status.

What does this tool not calculate?

  • It does not produce the official e-Okul decision.
  • It does not guarantee full coverage of all current MEB regulation details.
  • It does not include school board or administration decisions.
  • It does not process course-specific responsibility details.
  • It does not evaluate behavior, discipline, certificate status or special school rules.
  • It does not validate official absence documents.

Frequently Asked Questions

How is high school promotion estimated?

Year-end score, current failed courses, total responsible courses and absence values are evaluated together.

What does responsible promotion mean?

It means the student may move to the next grade while still having responsibilities for some courses. Responsibility exams may apply.

Do unexcused absences affect the result?

Yes. In the current runtime logic, unexcused absences above 10 days can lead to grade repetition.

What total absence value creates risk?

Under the current runtime logic, total absences above 30 days can lead to grade repetition.

Is the result official?

No. It is informational. Official decisions should be checked through e-Okul, school administration and current regulations.

Can current failed courses exceed total responsible courses?

No. Total responsible courses should include current failed courses, so it should not be smaller.
